MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (August 31, 2017) – Shallotte, N.C., musician CC Martin’s hit “Flags of Freedom” has won the Palmetto Chevrolet Carolina Artist Showdown for the month of August on 93.9 Carolina Country (WMIR).  CC Martin and “Flags of Freedom” now moves on to compete for September Artist of the Month honors against the group McKenzies Mill (brothers Ryan & Justin) from West End, N.C. with “Middle Of Nowhere,” KasCie Page of Conway, S.C., with “Soldier’s Daughter,” and the group Outshyne from Laurens, S.C., with “Praying For A Red Light.”
The Palmetto Chevrolet Carolina Artist Showdown gives local artists from the Carolinas the opportunity to receive daily Radio airplay of their song, known as “spins,” on 93.9 Carolina Country.  Listeners vote for their favorite song and artist and the top vote-getter each month becomes the Artist of the Month.
Colonial Media and Entertainment (http://www.colonial.fm) Program Director Sweet Tea hosts the afternoon show on 93.9 Carolina Country and also oversees the competition.  Sweet Tea says that “spins help these local artists immensely.  Each artist gets over twenty spins during the month.  We’re so pleased to profile these local artists who have so much talent and get them on the Radio, many for the first time.”
The Palmetto Chevrolet Carolina Artist Showdown airs daily on 93.9 Carolina Country (WMIR).
