FAYETTEVILLE, NC: The Cool Spring Downtown District is pleased to welcome Critical Path Solutions, LLC to the district. Critical Path Solutions is a full-service design-build firm located at 109 Gillespie Street. We sat down with their leadership for a question-and-answer session. Here’s what we learned!
Tell us what services Critical Path Solutions provide:
Critical Path Solutions team has been in the construction industry for over 25 years. We saw a niche in the market for small construction projects in the area and noticed a lack of design build firms able to fulfill the needs of the clients for projects under $100k. Our firm began taking on small residential and commercial projects in the area in 2019. Since then, we were quickly recommended to more people, our client base began to grow, and the size of the projects started to increase as well. We hired our first employee in March of 2020, and have hired ten full-time employees since then.
We built our team around experience. Each individual employee plays a key part in Critical Path Solutions and brings a wealth of experience to the company. We meet at a round table, think outside of the box, and use everybody’s input.
Although owning your own business is never all glitter and gold, our team, and the atmosphere of downtown, make it worthwhile. As a construction company, you mostly get opportunities to build your basic offices, home additions, Medical offices, factory additions and Hotel renovations with hopes to construct something cool people will recognize. We have already put a pin on some cool projects like a brewery, a large addition to the Village Baptist church, Danson’s (grill company) new Distribution center and currently wrapping up the design for a new state of the art Veterinary clinic.
What separates Critical Path Solutions from other construction firms?
Critical Path Solutions currently has an in-house design team for architecture. This allows us to be a one stop shop for clients. We can prepare conceptual designs and budgets. We coordinate the client’s preliminary budget with the final design and seamlessly relay this information to the field with our superintendents. We pride ourselves on our ability to keep a single point of responsibility while our transparent communication with the client prevents additional costs, change orders, or mistakes that usually occur with producing customized projects.
Tell us why you chose to open Critical Path Solutions in the Cool Spring Downtown District?
Robert DeGaetano Jr (owner) and Delbert Soucier jr. (owner) and the rest of the team always enjoyed the atmosphere downtown. Robert is a Fayetteville Native and Delbert has been in Fayetteville since 1997. They have both watched the downtown area grow/flourish into the community it is today. As we looked at many buildings to become our new home, our Design Coordinator (Julianne Harrelson) came along to look at the 109 Gillespie Street location. We were shown this space by Grant/Murray Real Estate’s agent Susan Evens. When Julianne saw the space, her eyes lit up, and the words “This is it” echoed through the open building. There was no turning back. We understand some things have changed over the past months due to the COVID epidemic, but we feel it will bounce back quickly. The entire team is looking forward to always being a part of the downtown community.
Did you receive any City funding and/or business assistance or grants?
No, we applied, but eventually walked away from the opportunity. Despite the hurdles due to the slightly beaten economy, Critical Path Solutions had a relatively successful year, and was able to renovate and repair the building without the funding. Critical Path Solutions was formed by draining the piggy banks, and reinvesting the profits back into the company.
Are you going to host a Ribbon Cutting?
We will host an open house and Ribbon Cutting on Thursday, February 18th from 4 – 6 PM at our office. The downtown community is invited to visit our freshly renovated building, meet our staff, and enjoy food and drink.
