FAYETTEVILLE – The 21st annual Cumberland County Department of Social Services March to Work Job Fair is March 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Crown Expo Center, 1960 Coliseum Dr.
Job seekers will have the opportunity to meet employers, hand out their resumes and apply for jobs. They are advised to dress professionally; bring plenty of resumes; and be prepared for short, on-the-spot interviews with potential employers.
More than 90 employers representing a variety of industries will be at the job fair including business/professional, child care, education, customer service, government, distribution, food service, health care, retail and more.
Job fair coordinator Toni Wright-Harris encourages all job seekers, regardless of their skill set to attend this free event.
“The March to Work Job Fair is a great opportunity for job seekers and employers to come together under one roof,” Wright-Harris said. “This event is a one-stop-shop for those looking for new employment and for employers with job vacancies.”
The Internet Job Café hosted by the Cumberland County Public Library and Information Center will be available for job seekers to submit online job applications to interested vendors both on and offsite during the event. Cumberland County Workforce Development also provides staff and services to help job seekers with resume review, NCWorks registration, veterans services, and career training services and information.
The City of Fayetteville Transportation Department and B & W Transportation will provide free van transportation to and from the job fair about every 15 to 20 minutes between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. City vans will pick up from the FAST Transit Center and B & W Transportation vans will pick up from DSS, and the NCWorks Career Center. The last trip from the Crown Expo for all vans will depart at 2:30 p.m.
The job fair is presented in partnership with the Cumberland County Public Library and Information Center, Cumberland County Workforce Development, City of Fayetteville, Fayetteville Technical Community College, Public Works Commission, Beasley Media Group, Copiers Plus, Hardee’s and McDonald’s.
