Legal Assistance: The North Carolina Bar Association is partnering with the American Bar Association, FEMA and Legal Aid of North Carolina to operate a Disaster Legal Services Hotline for those impacted by Hurricane Matthew. Low-income survivors facing legal issues may call 1-800-662-7407, and individuals who qualify for assistance will be matched with North Carolina lawyers who have volunteered to provide free, limited legal help.
SBA Disaster Loan Program: Over the years, the SBA has developed many small business loan and assistance programs, special outreach efforts and initiatives to aid and inform small businesses. During times of natural disaster such as Hurricane Matthew, these efforts are not limited to business owners but include resources available for home owners and renters as well.
